Known for her oratory skills and high-spirited conversations with top Bollywood celebrities, Atika Farooqui is an Indian TV anchor, celebrity talk show host, entertainment editor, published Urdu poet, a former TV journalist, producer, creative writer, voice-over artist and trained actor with 20 years of experience.
Atika started her career as an entertainment journalist with channels such as Star News, News 24, Bhaskar News, and News 24, to become a leading anchor followed by becoming creative director of Rishtey Cineplex.
She currently works with Colors Cineplex and VOOT (Viacom 18) as an in-house actor, anchor, and producer of a popular celebrity chat program. She also hosts the main prime-time weekend cinema show, Now Showing on CNN News18.
Atika has worked with media stalwarts , like Vir Sanghvi, Uday Shankar, Raghav Bahl, Rajdeep Sardesai and Raj Nayak.
She was in the launching team of 7 national TV channels in India and has worked closely with the News, Film, and TV industry in Mumbai and Delhi, Atika is counted among the few very resourceful people in media.
Her Urdu poetry, film reviews, and TV chat shows have been appreciated by Dilip Kumar, Javed Akhtar, and Aamir Khan. She and her Urdu poems on communal harmony have been featured on leading TV channels and websites like NDTV, Quint, Colors, Hindustan Times, and Times of India.
Atika has hosted more than 2000 detailed interviews of top Bollywood actors and directors and has written, anchored, and produced more than 3000 hours of film, TV, and news programming.
She has been a keynote speaker, panelist, host at prestigious media platforms like FICCI frames, Exchange for media, Impact, Rekhta, IFFI (International film festival of India), IIFA awards, Filmfare, and many others.
She also appeared in a Netflix film with Manoj Bajpayee, directed by National award-winning director Abhishek Chowbey.
Atika hosted shows like Saas Bahu Aur Saazish in 2005 and is also known for her immaculate voice and has done voice overs for several ad films and projects.
Atika represented India in the 43rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva in 2020.
