Rajeev Masand is an acclaimed journalist turned film critic, whose work is always in the public eye. Every single movie whether it’s Hollywood or Bollywood, needs to have a review by Rajeev Masand.
Rajeev studied at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics and graduated from Mumbai University and started reporting at the age of 16 at The Times of India newspaper.
He later became the ‘Assistant Editor’ at The Indian Express, ‘Special Correspondent’ and ‘Film Critic’ at Star News.
With 2 eponymous film shows – Masand Ki Pasand (Star News) and Rajeev Masand Ki Pasand (IBN7), Rajeev skillfully depicted how a TV film critic connects to his audience.
Rajeev is an ‘Entertainment Editor’ and ‘Film Critic’ at CNN-IBN. He also hosted a show To Catch a Star interviewing actors and conversing about their work and life.
Rajeev has a popular YouTube channel where he posts his weekly film reviews, filmed as CNN-News18’s Now Showing segments also posted concurrently on their channel. He also posts regular interviews with key figures in the entertainment industry that includes most actors and directors both Indian as well as International stars occasionally.
Rajeev has also written entertainment industry columns for several publications such as Open Magazine, Firstpost, News18 and The Quint
Rajeev is a contributing editor for GQ India and writes a monthly column, Talk Movies for the magazine.
Rajeev tried his hand at comedy and performed at the ‘AIB Podcast Knockout’ in 2015 starring Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.
Rajeev has interviewed immensely talented international stars including Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr, Adrien Brody to name a few.

- In 2018 he received a silver button for his YouTube channel.
- Elected as a member of ‘The Film Critics Guild’ (FCG) alongside Anupama Chopra, Bharathi Pradhan, Bhawana Somaaya, Rohit Khilnani, Shubhra Gupta, Baradwaj Rangan, Suparna Sharma, Udita Jhunjhunwala, Suhani Singh and Rahul Desia.
