One of India's most loved Radio Storytellers, Neelesh Misra is a multifaceted personality whose work spans many worlds. An award-winning journalist, a prolific author, Bollywood scriptwriter and lyricist, he is also the Co-Founder and Editor Of ‘Gaon Connection', India’s biggest rural media platform.
He also heads a content creation agency.
He has covered some of the biggest stories out of South Asia in his career as a journalist.
He is well-known for his radio shows, such as the award winning ‘Yaadon Ka IdiotBox' on BIG FM 92.7 and ‘The Neelesh Misra Show’ on Red FM 93.5'.
He commands huge popularity in the digital space, with his shows on Saavn and Jio, the two biggest apps in the entertainment space in India.
Neelesh has written five bestselling books including ‘The Absent State’, ‘173 Hours in Captivity’. ‘End Of The Line: The Story of the Killing of the Royals in Nepal Once Upon a Time Zone’ and ‘Neelesh Mishra Ka Yaad Sheher Volumes-I and II’.
He was the creative director. singer and songwriter in India's first writer-led band called ‘Nine’.
As a screenwriter, he has co-written the scripts of two films, starring Salman Khan. namely 'Ek tha Tiger' and 'Tiger Zinda Hai'.
Awards and Accomplishments
He received the ‘Ram Nath Goenka Award’ for Excellence in Journalism, for a nine-part series reported from insurgency areas, titled ‘India Besieged’. He is a three time winner of the ‘KC Kulish Memorial Award’.
As a Lyricist, Neelesh Misra has written lyrics for more than 30 films and has worked with some of the leading composers such as Pritam, Sajid-Wajid, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar, Anu Malik and Sandesh Shandilya.
For ‘Jagga Jasoos’ he received the Mirchi Music Award for ‘Listeners Choice Album of the Year’ at the 10th Mirchi Music Awards.
