Singer Shantanu Mukherjee, fondly known as Shaan is one of India’s most popular & versatile Bollywood playback singers and is highly acclaimed for his melodious, soulful & romantic songs.

He belonged to a household that carried a musical legacy; his father had lent his voice to several great songs in the past. So he decided to follow his path and build his own network.

He was just five years old when he recorded his first song which was a nursery rhyme. He began his musical journey at a very young age singing jingles and soon stepped into the pop scene with his sister, Sagarika to release several chartbusters.

His career started with singing jingles for advertisements, to releasing pop songs with his sister & then solo albums. In 2000 he won the MTV Asia Music Award for ‘Best Solo Album’ for his album‘Tanha Dil’. In 2006, he released a song with MLTR, ‘Take me to your heart’.

Apart from singing for his numerous hit albums, Shaan has established himself as a noted playback singer in Bollywood; having lent his voice to some of the most successful films like, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, ‘PK’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Taare Zameen Par’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’, ’Jab We Met’ and many more. 

He is one of the few Indian singers to have collaborated with international singers. He sang the theme song for the movie ’The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’. He has also been one of the 4 finalists of the dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ in 2013.

He has sung over 500 songs of different genres like Pop, Melancholic, Patriotic, Jazz, Ghazals, Hip-hop, Rock & more in Hindi,  English & numerous Indian regional languages.

He has been showered with titles like ‘Golden Voice of India’, ‘Voice of Paradise’, ‘Magician of Melody’ and ‘Voice of Youth’.

Shaan hosted the television show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ on Zee TV , which won the ‘Music Programme of the Year’ award at the Indian Telly Awards in 2003.  From 2015-2017 he was a coach & judge on ‘The Voice’ on &TV. 

He is one of the most celebrated singers in the industry and is also known as an Indipop Star. He has established himself as a playback singer and a great live performer. His performances are always memorable for the audiences and gives them a bag full of memories to take back.
