He was declared the most-streamed Indian artist on Spotify from 2020 to 2023 and holds the distinction of being the third most-followed artist globally and the most-followed Asian artist on the platform. In 2011, Arijit made his Bollywood debut with 'Phir Mohabbat' from ‘Murder 2’, but it was the film ‘Aashiqui 2’ in 2013 that catapulted him to stardom. The tracks 'Tum Hi Ho' and 'Chahun Main Ya Naa' became instant hits, solidifying his place in the music industry. His ability to convey deep emotions through his voice and his versatility across genres quickly made him a favorite among music lovers and filmmakers alike.

Arijit’s musical journey began when he participated in the reality show ‘Fame Gurukul’ in 2005. Despite being eliminated early, his talent did not go unnoticed. Renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali recognized his potential and initially recorded him for the song 'Yun Shabnami' for the film ‘Saawariya’, although it was later dropped from the final cut. Post-’Fame Gurukul’, he won another reality show, ‘10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil’, using his prize money to set up a recording studio in Mumbai.

At the tender age of three, he began formal training under the guidance of the Hazari brothers, and by nine, he had secured a government scholarship for Indian classical music. Influenced by maestros like Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and Ustad Rashid Khan, and inspired by the timeless voices of Kishore Kumar, Hemant Kumar, and Manna Dey, Arijit's musical palette was both vast and profound. He also admired Western classical giants like Mozart and Beethoven, which added a unique dimension to his musical style.

Arijit's contributions to Bollywood music have been immense and widely recognized. His songs, spanning various Indian languages like Hindi and Bengali, have resonated with millions, earning him the title of one of the best singers of his generation. 

He is celebrated not just for his playback singing but also for his work as a music composer and producer, having collaborated with top composers like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar, Mithoon, Monty Sharma, and Pritam.
