About

Meet Shai, a Mumbai-grown singer and songwriter shaping India’s hyperpop wave with a fresh, playful voice.

After moving to the UK to study at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, she began carving her path between two scenes, UK pop culture and India’s independent music space, creating songs that feel youthful, romantic, and confidently self-expressive.

Her music sits in hyperpop and contemporary pop, with strong touches of UK garage and indie-pop. Known for tracks like “Lucifer,” “Love Island,” “Heera,” “Tum Na Mere Ho,” and “Jaane Doon,” she moves easily between dance-ready hooks and intimate pop writing.

Shai has worked with major names along the way Badshah (“Red and Blue,” “On Trac”), Nicky Romero, Frank Walker, Bancali, and writers/producers across LA and Europe.

She has also co-written “So What” for Jay Pryor and contributed to projects by Ayokay and W&W.

Her profile has grown across media as well.

She has been featured in Rolling Stone India (including a digital cover), Platform Magazine, and Indulge Express, and she carries the rare experience of receiving personal feedback from Sir Paul McCartney during her time in Liverpool.

Awards & recognition: highlighted as a Rolling Stone “Fresh Indie” pick, featured globally across streaming platforms, and widely covered as one of the prominent names pushing hyperpop from India to a wider audience. On stage, she brings an infectious, playful presence with a set packed with hyperpop, UK-garage-styled pop, indie-pop, and her viral releases, making her a strong pick for youth festivals, pop stages, fashion shows, college fests, brand events, and club shows.
