BACKSTAGE SIBLINGS

About
Picture a room where people sit on the floor, sing loudly without hesitation, and forget they’re “attending” anything at all. That space is what Backstage Siblings set out to create. Instead of a typical on-stage performance, they build informal jamming circles where everyone joins in, sings along, and becomes part of the music itself. The format is simple: no food or drinks during the jam, just voices, guitars, and songs shared together.
Formed by Raghav and Prachi, a brother-sister pair balancing demanding finance jobs with their love for music, the band grew out of years of playful rivalry and shared playlists. Prachi jokes that she keeps her portfolio and playlists equally balanced, while Raghav claims six strings fight for attention with his spreadsheets. Both bring warmth and humor to their sessions, making people feel comfortable enough to sing without worrying about “performance.”
Their sessions cover songs across genres and eras, making them suitable for all age groups. The group has been featured by major publications including The Times of India, and The Hindu. And The Telegraph attended one of their jam sessions, documenting the raw, free-flowing format.
Backstage Siblings have also taken music beyond event spaces into community initiatives, including a heartfelt farewell ride for the Kolkata trams, where people came together to sing classics by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, and Lata Mangeshkar. Known as The Jam Room Project, their concept focuses on shared singing, floor seating, and a close-knit atmosphere rather than a formal concert setup.
